“There isn’t any CO2 driven climate changing ‘global warming’ and we have the figures to prove it,” says the Mammas Mammon Centre for Climate Studies. To anyone who disputes the climate centre’s findings it challenges them to a £5,000 ($10,000) wager to disprove them. Mammas Mammon also says that governments and scientists are ignoring the real threat presently coming from the skies.

Mammas Mammon in its latest report, ‘With every step’, state that in comparison to water vapour carbon dioxide contributes less than half of one per cent to the atmosphere’s temperature and that ‘man-made’ CO2’s contribution is a yet further 12 times less than this. “Water vapour is the prime greenhouse ‘gas’,” a spokesman for Mammas Mammon said, “Not only is it is four times more efficient than carbon dioxide at absorbing infrared heat energy but there is a lot more of it than CO2.

“The world’s water vapour amounts to 4 million square miles of sky, the equivalent of that above Europe all the way to the Urals. The ‘greenhouse equivalent’ of the world’s entire CO2 would fill an area of sky no bigger than 140×140 miles, two thirds of that above Scotland or West Virginia.

“The ‘excess’ carbon dioxide, the Kyoto protocols say has to be cut back, is no more than the equivalent of 40×40 miles of sky and the amount the IPCC says CO2 is increasing by each year is less than 10×10 miles. To put these figures in context,” the Mammas Mammon’s spokesman said, “the skies above the Earth cover more than 200 million square miles.

“Mammas is one of the first groups to have actually done the basic arithmetic on greenhouse gases. The Centre’s data has been verified by leading climatologists and checked again by top mathematic-ians. No matter from what angle these figures are looked at they clearly show that not only is ‘man-made global warming’ a complete myth but so is the notion of ‘global warming’ itself,” he said.

“If anyone, the IPCC included, disputes these figures then Mammas challenges them to a £5,000 wager - in public - to disprove them,” he said. “However, once this data has been gone through, even by the most fervent believers of CO2 driven global warming, none of them will dare take Mammas on for they will know not only would they lose their money but face as well,” he added.

‘With every step’ is highly critical of the advocates of global warming and climate change. In the report Mammas charges them with peddling scaremongering pseudoscience, not really knowing what they are talking about as well as ‘filtering the facts to fit their theories’.

Mammas says that believers of ‘man-made CO2 global warming’, or ‘Worshippers of the Carbon Calf’ as it calls them, have also neglected to take account of the recent massive rises in carbon dioxide from purely natural sources. Among those that the report lists are:

1 The bodily effusions of the 4 billion increase in the world’s population over the past 60 years. These now amount to an extra 2 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide being put into the atmosphere every year and represents 20 per cent of the reported annual rise of CO2.

2 The number of active volcanoes - major emitters of CO2 - has doubled during the same time.

3 The number of earthquakes - another major source of CO2 - has risen each decade from less than 10,000 a year in the 1970s, trebling to more than 30,000 annually during the present one.

The increases from these three sources alone more than equals the yearly 2ppm (parts per million) rise in CO2 that the IPCC claims, Mammas says.

The climate centre says that in ‘With every step’ it provides data showing that the Earth’s climate is essentially determined by the ‘Gleissberg Cycle’ of approximately 12 year long Sunspot Cycles. The spottier they are the warmer the climate, and that lesser spotted ones bring cooler climes.

The report details how, during the lesser spotted Sunspot Cycles 19, 20 and 21 (1940-78), the climate not only cooled but that in 1971 NASA scientist Stephen Schneider proclaimed the world was headed for a 5,000 year long ice age. He and other scientists led campaigns to cover the world with carbon dust and for space based mirrors to reflect the sun’s rays on glaciers so as to melt them. However, with the advent of Cycle 22 (1979-93), which was a greater spotted one, the climate duly became warmer again and Schneider’s prophecy of a frozen future evaporated into obscurity.

Although global temperatures during Cycle 22 and the following one, 23 (1994-2007) were no higher than those during the 1920-30s, another NASA scientist, Jim Hanson nonetheless proclaimed that the world was headed for runaway overheating brought about by fossil fuels. He and multitudes of credulous converts to ‘man-made global warming’ jumped aboard the ensuing bandwagon with the more mercurial ones making off with billions of public money for ‘climate research’ in the process.

After any warming comes the inevitable cooling, Mammas says. “As the Gleissburg Cycle indicated, the current sunspot Cycle 24, which continues to about 2020, will be an average spotted one and so the climate will also be ‘average’ as well. Sunspot Cycle 25 (2020-35) will be scarcely spotted and the climate considerably cooler but Cycle 26 (2035-50) is set to be without any spots at all. During these two cycles, designated the ‘Landscheidt Minima’, temperatures are likely to plummet to those of the Maunder Minima, Little Ice Age of the 17-18th centuries, and could last into the 2070s.

“What is coming,’” Mammas says, “is not just ‘Global Cooling’ but ‘Global Freezing’. A mitigating factor though is that these ‘Grand Minima’, which occur about every 350 years, are not as cold as they used to be. The one in the 9th century, for example was so cold that even the Nile froze over. Also the entire Solar System is heating up. From Neptune’s moon Triton, where temperatures have risen by 2ºC in the past decade, to Mars where its ice caps have been retreating for three years in a row, all of the planets are showing signs of warming. As such it is very probable that Earth will be similarly affected.”

However, Mammas says that while governments and scientists bombard us with mantras on the supposed future perils of global warming, they are ignoring the real threat presently facing the world and which is now arriving from the skies every single day. This is Ug99.

The Mammas spokesman said: “Ug99 is a mutant rust fungus that emerged from Uganda. It attacks wheat. Wheat constitutes 20 per cent of the world’s food grains. Ug99 kills off hundreds of square miles of wheat crops in days. There is no known defence against it. Even more worrying is that while the sun’s ultraviolet light usually destroys fungi spores it has no affect on Ug99’s whatsoever.

“Spores from Ug99 have blown across East Africa wiping out the region’s wheat crops in their wake. Last year Ug99’s spores arrived in the Yemen, killing off its wheat harvest. This year Ug99’s spores were blown into Iran. According to the Iranian authorities Ug99 has mutated yet again. At a stroke this has nullified all of the development on fungicides aimed at combating it.

“The Punjab, where a fifth of the world’s wheat is grown, lies directly and defenceless in the east-ward path of Ug99’s spores. By 2009 they will also have been blown into central Asia and China, then on into the rest of Eurasia during 2010-11. Even the Americas are not safe from Ug99,” the spokesman said, “Wind blown fungal spores from Africa have already been found in the Caribbean.

“Making matters worse is that the US government is curtailing its funding of the world leading rust research laboratories at Minneapolis. Meanwhile the Chinese government is spending a reported $500m in a desperate bid to breed Ug99 resistant strains of wheat. But alas, they have, as has the rest of the world, left it too late. It takes more than 5 years to breed new plant strains. By 2012 Ug99 will have wiped out most of the world’s wheat crops,” he said.

“Because the climate is going to cool during the coming decades increases in crop yields will slow. The world’s grain stocks are presently at their lowest in 30 years. By 2012 world wheat production is predicted to have fallen from last year’s 600m tonnes to less than 100m tonnes,” the spokesman said.

“Ug99 is the real threat facing the world, not any supposed climate change” he added. “Instead of governments and scientists fretting and fiddling over make believe global warming, it is vital that in the short time remaining they tackle this impending collapse of all the world’s wheat crops with the utmost urgency. Should they not only fail to do so but do so in time, and the hungry start marching, all of our other concerns, including the temperature of the climate will pale into insignificance.”

Meanwhile, Mammas says it has £5,000 in escrow awaiting any ‘Worshipper of the Carbon Calf’ who dares to take up its wager.
